Day 157, 365 Day Project.

The colourful water bottles that my boy's have caught my eye this evening and I knew I wanted to do something with them. I decided to use the iPod touch camera as I had an idea how I wanted the finished image to look. Looking for a simple background I brought them to the couch and positioned them. My light sources at this location was the window light coming across the room and the tungsten bulbs in the chandelier in the front entrance. The tungsten light gave a marvelous warm glow reflecting off the couch while the bottles retained their richness from the daylight coming through the window. The image was then processed using the picture show app.

Day 156, 365 Day Project.

Doing a little experimenting today. Shot the above image with the Canon 7D and the 24-70 f2.8 lens. Settings were 1/80 sec, f.56 at 1000 ISO. I then downloaded the image resized it and downloaded it to my iPod touch. Using both Instagram and Pictureshow to manipulate the image to achieve the final result. Can see a number of uses for this process to create unique images.

Day 155, 365 Day Project.

Was trying to decide what I should shot for today's image when I looked outside and saw the richest rainbow I have ever seen. There had been no rain at our house so I had not even thought about rainbows, but there it was. I rushed down stairs and grabbed the Canon 7D and went out front. I managed to shot off about five frames before it faded starting at the top of our driveway and ending in the field across the street. When I got back inside I liked the very first frame I shot as the Evergreen filled the negative space and the rainbow finished nicely in the trees. 24-70 f2.8 @ f4.5 and 70mm, 1/1000 sec at 200 ISO.

Day 154, 365 Day Project.

I've been doing a lot of running around that last while and today decided to give my feet a rest. Got out the old Epsom Salts, got a tub of warm water and let them soak. So nice. iPod Touch camera processed with Instagram.

Day 153, 365 Day Project.

Tulips once again, this time from our backyard. The ones out from are now withered and dead but these ones along the fence are in full bloom. Don't have as many this year as it looks like squirrels ate most of the bulbs, but we have a few. I love the richness of the colours here, no enhancement needed in photoshop. Canon 7D, 24-70 f2.8 @ f4, 1/160 sec at 100 ISO.

Day 152, 365 Day Project.

Luke and I had the whole day together as Lysa is at work and Cool is away for 4 days with his choir. It was soccer night tonight and I wanted to do a little bit of a portrait of Luke. I decided to use the iPod touch camera and then bring the image in to Pictureshow for processing. I got down on the ground to get this shot and I am pleased with the result. Fortunately the rain stayed away until we walked up our driveway to the house then it started to pour.

Day 151, 365 Day Project.

On my way home from SAIT after teaching my lighting class I came across this scene as I drove by the LRT station. Pulling my car over I quickly changed the lens on my Canon 7D to my 70-200 f2.8 lens and walked down the road to get a shot of the Plus 15 walkway with the sunset clouds behind it. Shot at f6.3 at 1/80 sec, 800 ISO at 200mm handheld.

To take the image below of the station below I had to climb on the wall and lean against the chain link fence. I was drawn to the colours of the scene. Just after I took the shoot a Calgary Police Service van pulled up to me to just check that I was not planning to jump on the tracks. Told them I had to much to live for and was just looking for the right angle.
